BUYER GUIDE

Comparing Next.js and React Source-Code Templates: Prices, Licenses, and What You Still Have to Build

A low sticker price for a SaaS starter kit and a higher price for a domain application reflect different scopes. Compare verified prices, license rules, hosting duties, and remaining engineering work before buying.

What source-code sticker prices actually cover

When developers and agencies browse digital code marketplaces such as Codester, downloadable Next.js and React codebases generally fall into two categories: horizontal SaaS starter kits (which wire up login, database ORM, and subscription billing) and vertical business applications (which implement a specific domain workflow such as appointment booking, staff scheduling, and administration).

The marketplace purchase price buys the downloadable code package under the selected license tier. It does not eliminate the engineering work required to provision infrastructure, configure environment variables, pay for third-party APIs or databases, and adapt the code to your project's exact business rules.

  • Software source code: the files, database migrations, and setup documentation delivered in the download archive.
  • Installation and hosting responsibility: provisioning your own hosting, domain, database, and environment secrets.
  • Developer customization effort: modifying UI, domain logic, branding, and integrations to fit your use case.
  • External-service expenses: separate accounts and usage bills for databases, hosting, email delivery, or payment processing.

Verified comparison: horizontal SaaS starter kit vs. vertical booking application

The comparison below uses official public marketplace listing information checked on 18 October 2026 (marketplace prices and terms may change; always check the live checkout page before buying). Beyond Digital Solutions (BDS) is the creator and seller of the BDS Appointment Booking Platform. BDS is an independent third party with respect to other marketplace authors and has not personally tested, audited, or verified the internal code quality of third-party listings.

1. Third-Party Horizontal SaaS Boilerplate — SupaSaaS - NextJS Starter Kit - PostgreSQL Stripe (Codester item 60682; listed at $34 USD Regular License / $102 USD Extended License when checked on 18 October 2026): According to its official Codester listing, SupaSaaS is built with Next.js (App Router), React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui components, Prisma ORM with PostgreSQL (or MongoDB), authentication (Google OAuth and email/password login), Stripe recurring subscription billing with webhooks and customer billing portal, and transactional email templates via Resend or SMTP. What it targets: developers launching a subscription-based web app who want pre-configured authentication and Stripe billing wiring. Limitations and remaining work: BDS has not personally tested this third-party codebase. Buyers must supply and configure their own PostgreSQL database, Stripe account and webhook secrets, OAuth credentials, and email provider, and must still build their own domain-specific application features. It does not include appointment scheduling, staff availability calendars, or Arabic/English RTL localization.

2. BDS-Owned Vertical Booking Application — BDS - Next.js Appointment Booking Platform (Codester item 71444, listed at $104 USD Regular License / $312 USD Extended License when checked on 18 October 2026; also detailed on the BDS software product page, with a live demonstration at ZENO): Developed and sold by Beyond Digital Solutions. Built with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Supabase, PostgreSQL, Vinext, and Cloudflare Workers deployment configuration. Includes a public bilingual (English/Arabic RTL) business website, a customer appointment-booking flow, service and staff management, availability rules, an admin calendar, enquiries, and administration dashboard screens. Limitations and remaining work: This is downloadable source code (version 1.0.3), not a hosted SaaS subscription. The buyer must have development experience and must provide and configure their own Supabase project, domain name, and compatible Next.js / Cloudflare Workers hosting environment. Managed hosting, installation services, custom branding, payment gateways, CRM sync, and WhatsApp/SMS integrations are not included in the source-code purchase.

  • Choose a horizontal SaaS starter kit only if your core requirement is user login and recurring Stripe subscription billing, and you plan to code the rest of the product yourself.
  • Choose the BDS Appointment Booking Platform only if you want a self-hosted Next.js + Supabase appointment-scheduling and business-admin codebase that you can configure and deploy yourself.
  • Note on other marketplace listings: When evaluating other categories on Codester (such as event portals, AI wrapper scripts, or form utilities), verify the exact underlying stack, current license price, and whether external paid APIs are required before purchasing.

Regular vs. Extended license boundaries

Marketplace licenses govern how you may legally use downloaded source code. On Codester, the official license summary states that a Regular License ($34 USD for SupaSaaS item 60682; $104 USD for BDS item 71444, as checked on 18 October 2026) permits use in a single project for personal or commercial purposes by you or on behalf of a single client, subject to the marketplace's terms. An Extended License ($102 USD for SupaSaaS item 60682; $312 USD for BDS item 71444, as checked on 18 October 2026) permits broader multi-project or commercial usage as defined by the marketplace license agreement.

BDS does not grant usage, resale, or redistribution rights beyond the specific license attached to your order. Phrases such as 'customizable' or 'white-label' describe technical configurability in the code, not an unrestricted legal right to resell the template or deploy a Regular License across multiple client projects. Always read the complete license text on the merchant checkout page before completing a purchase.

  • Confirm whether your project is for a single end product or multiple client deployments before selecting Regular vs. Extended.
  • Retain your marketplace invoice and license certificate with your project documentation.
  • Purchasing the BDS source-code package does not transfer ownership of the BDS-operated ZENO demonstration environment.

Support, maintenance, and external-service considerations

Before buying any source-code package, plan who will maintain dependencies, apply security patches, manage database backups, and handle production incidents after launch. A marketplace code listing is a starting point for a technical buyer, not a managed service level agreement.

Account for third-party infrastructure bills separately from the one-time source-code price. Depending on the stack, you will need accounts for database hosting (such as Supabase or managed PostgreSQL), application hosting (such as Cloudflare Workers or Node-compatible hosting), a custom domain, and any optional email or payment providers.

Optional paid customization vs. self-managed source code

Standard purchases of the BDS Next.js Appointment Booking Platform include the downloadable version 1.0.3 source package, database migrations, deployment configuration, and setup documentation for self-managed deployment. Installation, custom branding, bespoke workflow changes, and third-party integrations are excluded from the base license price.

If you want Beyond Digital Solutions to adapt the booking platform for your business—such as custom branding, deployment setup, or tailored workflow changes—that work is offered as an optional, separately scoped paid service. You can submit your requirements voluntarily through our optional paid customization enquiry page or detailed project brief. BDS reviews your requirements and provides a project quote based on the actual scope.
